I can't find any information the open container law for Baton Rouge, Im mainly interested in the minimum/maximum penalty. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help me out|||It depends on your city or parish. There is no statewide open container law in LA.

It says you have to have the packaging covered in most areas, so go ghetto style and use a paper bag. If you are going to drink anywhere where you aren't sure of the law you should try to get a bottle you can put the top onto. If a cop is coming put the top back on and do not tell them they can open it. They can take it from you, but cannot look inside of it without a warrant. They will never get one, will always open it, and usually will pour out the alcohol. If you don't acknowledge you have alcohol you can go to court and tell them to present the evidence that you had alcohol, which requires a lab test. They will never have this. Secondly, you can say you never gave them permission to open, and search in your private property (your bottle) which they did without a warrant, so you should be able to get out of a ticket that way too.

You don't have to worry in LA though from the looks of it.|||http://www.opencontainerlaws.com/index.h鈥?/a>
