The officers are encouraged to use them off duty as a way to increase perceived police presence in the community. There is nothing illegal about it. There are also numerous duty related reasons why a police office may be in another state in their squad car.|||Actually he was not lost. He was attending an out of state training course. There is a time gap between the delivery of the car, and the time the car is repainted and recommissioned.
