Some fairly major but not SUPER major flooding is predicted:
The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Baton Rouge.
* Until further notice.
* At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 43.5 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and record flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to continue rising to a stage of 46.1
feet on Tuesday morning may 17th and then continue rising to a crest near
47.5 feet on Sunday evening may 22nd.
* Impact... at 43.0 feet... shipping and Industrial activities are
significantly affected. Unprotected low-lying areas will be flooded
and agricultural operations will be impacted on the west side of
the river. The city of Baton Rouge is protected by levees at this
level.
* Forecast assumes operation of bonnet carre... but not Morganza.
